WELCOME TO SUMMIT MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL

We are an inter-denominational partnership of churches and ministries who are passionate about advancing the Kingdom of God!  We believe that SMI is an encouraging environment for pastors and ministers to connect with other like-minded leaders in the Body of Christ where they may receive training, mentoring, and strategies to further advance the vision of the Kingdom.

History of SMI

In 2005, SMI was developed as a natural outgrowth of relationships between pastors and ministers that was fostered over a number of years.  These pastors had a desire to deepen relationships and establish connections among pastors and ministers with a like vision and “spiritual DNA.”   Pastor Jackie White of Church on the Rock in Lubbock, Pastor Scott Beard of Fountain Gate Fellowship in Abilene, Pastor Brandon Honeycutt of Church on the Rock, and Dr. Morris Sheats of Leadership Institute brainstormed their vision and formed SMI.  In a little over a year’s time, SMI has grown from these four men into an organization that includes 14 ministries and 23 churches!

Success Story of SMI...

SMI has been a great blessing for me personally and it is beginning to bring real connection for our ministry.  I lead a ministry called Prepare International which is a mission group to Europe.  We are a non-resident missionary group which means we live in the United States, but we travel and work in Europe.

SMI has done several things for me/us:

  1. It has brought much needed connection to other ministries and people.  Often, we have felt alone in what we are doing, but our connection to others, both hearing what they are doing and discussing what we are doing has helped us greatly.
  2. SMI has brought relationships.  We need relationships!  I believe the Kingdom of God is built upon good, solid relationships and SMI is helping greatly.  At each of the meetings, we have had the opportunity to come to know others, sharing, loving, praying together and out of these times, I expect great lasting friendships to emerge.
  3. Encouragement.  Each SMI gathering has provided great encouragement for our personal lives and for the work He has given us.  Hearing men like, Morris Sheats, Dudley Hall, and recently, Olen Griffing have been a tremendous blessing to us.  They often don’t come and preach to us as much as share what God is saying and doing.
  4. Resource.  As time progresses, I expect that SMI will help to equip and resource us better to fulfill the calling of God to the nations of Europe.

I am very grateful to Jesus for the connections we have in SMI.  Thanks to all who are involved.  May He bless us all and we Him!

Is SMI for you?

SMI is open to other like-minded pastors and ministers who desire ongoing encouragement, training, apostolic mentoring, and coaching.  We invite all pastors and ministers to look at the values, goals, and services offered by SMI to determine if this might be a way that God pours into your life as His servant.  By becoming a member of SMI, you will not only build lasting relationships, but you will also have the opportunity to request the services of a development team who can visit your church to inspire vision and instill strategy.  Please browse this website to learn more about SMI or contact the SMI offices to request additional information regarding this ministry.
